Clark Mast Type 73 (30m)

It is very unlikely that I will ever have a permanent mast at my current QTH.  The thought of 1m2 of concrete to secure a base, and the hassle of dealing with local authority planning committees has put me off the idea.  However a temporary (non permanent) structure which could be raised and lowered, and even transported to field events, is much more appealing.

The photo is of my mast partially and temporarily erected (just so I could check I have all the bits and know how to put them together) outside the front of my house.  To put it up took 45 minutes, to take it down 30 minutes.  It has 24 sections, this is just 6 sections high.

I bought the mast kit "for a song", second hand, on ebay.  It is nearly new.  It came with four guying winches!

If you are interested in the technical specs, and more photos, check out the following websites.

Now all I need is some nice powerful Yagi Beams to mount on top of it.  Anything under 50kg is supposed to be OK.
