This was the first radio I bought which could listen to anything more than Music!!  It has a huge band coverage (100khz - 2Ghz continuous).  Although below about 30Mhz the sensitivity suffers a bit.  

Pros:  A very fast scan, I think it is 30 channels a second!  The band scan feature is very useful when you are trying to work out whether there is any activity.  

Cons:  Battery Life.  Also, when you have an infinite numbers of features the amount of multiple key presses to access these functions can be very annoying.  However what would I prefer?  Less features!  You must be joking.
