My latest vehicle is a Lexus IS 200 SE. 

I have obtained two Diamond antenna mounts which are installed on either side of the boot (trunk) Currently it has an ATAS 120 mounted on the passenger side and a dual band 2m/70cms whip on the drivers side.  Both antennas can be removed for secure parking in my garage.

Operating mobile is a compromise between  functionality and ease of use.

The FT100D has the advantage of channel and band change buttons on the hand microphone.

When mobile the FT100D is usually either tuned to the nearest 2m Repeater or to 145.500Mhz. 

Although working SSB on HF is possible while moving, it is safer to park up on the top of a hill and "talk to the world".
